TLC Industry Links
Despite the gloom and doom currently hanging over the current economic climate, TLC clients have recently made several links with agents and publishing houses.
A.M. Heath Literary Agency accepted a children’s story written by TLC client Sophie Plowden and TLC Client Jules Evans will have his 'real life' philosophy book published by Rider Books in 2012.
We are also delighted to announce that Bloomsbury recently published Kerry Young’s novel Pao
, a portrait of Jamaica’s Chinatown. Kerry Young, who now also works as a TLC reader, is just one example of the high calibre clients that come our way. For more information and the latest updates about our readers, check out our Readers' Talent page.

October Showcase
TLC's October Showcase presents an extract from Kate Belcher's young adult novel.
“She's right. Gramma's meat now. A lump; like something hanging in a butcher's shop. She's not her. She can't smile. Can't share candy floss, or ride the horseys, blue dress fluttering behind her pony."
Extract from Meat – included in the showcase
We welcome your comments. Please let us know what you think on our Facebook page.
Our November showcase will be an extract from Marek Slodkowski's, King of the Slags. The TLC showcase is made up of writers we have helped to publication and those whose work we think stands out from the crowd.

Forthcoming Events and Writing Holiday in 2012
In March and June 2012 TLC will host two publishing events with leading industry professionals, writers and major indie presses. We will post our dates for both events in our winter newsletter giving you plenty of time to book tickets and accommodation in London. Other events will also come in to the calendar and we will let you know as we go.
You can plan ahead for your next Literary Adventures, as we have now scheduled our next writing holiday in Spain for October 2012. Please get in touch if you have any questions or see our Adventures website
pages for more information. Click here to see our writing holiday video on YouTube.
As always, TLC is dedicated to helping writers better understand the publishing environment and how they can improve their own chances of finding publication or simply improving their writing.
We look forward to hearing from you.
