TLC’s Big Publishing Debate: How is the revolution in new technology changing the commercial publishing industry?

The Literary Consultancy
6.30 – 8.30pm, Lecture Theatre

More people than ever are writing with the hope of becoming a published author. At the same time, rumours abound about the unsustainability of commercial publishing as we know it. In this urgent debate, chaired by Robert McCrum, associate editor of The Observer, we engage the two biggest players from the world of new technology, Ben Howes, Head of Books at Amazon and Santiago de la Mora, Head of Print Partnerships for Europe Google. Alongside Dan Franklin, Head of Digital at Canongate Publishers and Bill Thompson, technology writer and digital guru, we will be demystifying the relationship between the internet and publishing, and asking if the brave new world of free content is decimating print industries and threatening the livelihoods of emerging and established writers.

Tickets: £10. To book a place contact info@freewordonline.com or call 020 7324 2570.
