Into the Mystic: the Extraordinary Life and Poetry of WB Yeats: December 10th, 6.30pm
TLC at Free Word is building up a tradition of special, intimate literary evenings based around the greats. Their evening of Keats' poetry and letters with Ben Whishaw, star of Jane Campion's film Bright Star and Roger Lloyd Pack's reading of T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land made for unforgettable events that warmed the mind and soul.
TLC's latest offering is a unique pre-christmas winter-warmer, a fascinating play with poetry, about the great Irish poet, W.B. Yeats. Join us for a glass of wine and a great deal of fun. For more information and tickets visit:

TLC’s Big Publishing Debate
Our TLC Big Publishing Debate which we hosted as part of the Free Word Festival on 28th September was riveting, and sold out. Our audience was made up of established and emerging writers, as well as literary agents, such as Clare Alexander from Aitken Alexander Associates and Caroline Dawnay from United Agents. The panel was chaired by Robert McCrum of the Observer, and made up of Santiago de la Mora from Google, Faber & Faber’s Chief Executive Stephen Page, Dan Franklin from Canongate, and digital guru Bill Thompson.
The publishing industry is changing day-to-day and we want to provide cutting edge information for our clients. We will be programming more publishing events and writing classes later in 2011, so do keep tuning in and check out our Events pages for forthcoming offerings, as well as Press & Publicity
and see what Google has to say at www.thebookseller.com/news/.

The Literateur/TLC Writing Competition
TLC's competition, run in association with online magazine The Literateur was a huge success. On November 11th we enjoyed another full-house, at an event to announce the winners in categories of poetry and short stories, from a short-list of three. Judges Rebecca Abrams, Sarah Hesketh and Rebecca Swift gave readings of their work and held a short debate about the future of literature with Kit Toda, the dynamic editor of The Literateur. For the full write-up see The Literature website.
